| It's based off of the Mayan calender where it just abruptly ends on Dec. 21, 2012. Nobody really knows why it just ends, and this is what some believe is the reason why. Others believe that the calender itself will just flip over and start from the beginning all over again. There is also a movie that is going to come out based off of this, 2012. The trailer is up so you should be able to watch it on Yahoo movies. | |

| Not sure why it ends right before Christmas. Maybe it has something to do with a play on numbers 12/21/12. *shrugs shoulders* | |

| I remember that.  People were freaking out thinking that technology was going fail us when the calender switched over to 2000. | |

| no, i don't think it's true. i don't know why the mayans thought the world would end on December 21, 2012, but i seriously doubt it. what, is a giant meteor just going to crash into the earth that day? they're actually making a movie about the day the earth ends, and it's called 2012. i wanna watch it. | |
